The Richmond Raiders are pleased to announce a partnership with The Sports Center of Richmond (SCOR). Under the agreement SCOR will become the “Official Training Facility of the Richmond Raiders.” SCOR is Richmond's premier indoor sports complex located just off the I-95 Boulevard exit.
SCOR opened its doors on January 1, 2007 and is dedicated to its mission of providing a state of the art, high quality, climate controlled sports facility with a family atmosphere for fun, recreation, exercise and athletic advancement. They are devoted to serving our local community with sports programs such as: soccer, lacrosse, baseball, dodge ball, volleyball, field hockey and flag football, with sports programs for all ages, needs and abilities.
The Raiders will hold their open player tryouts at the SCOR complex as well as their 2010 training camp and regular season practices. John Morris Co-Owner of the Raiders is excited about its partnership with SCOR; this partnership will allow the Raiders to house all of its practice needs in one state of the art sports complex. The Raiders will benefit from a complex of two indoor climate controlled fields as well as an outdoor field. All of the SCOR fields are high quality artificial turf fields similar to the Raiders home game field at the Richmond Coliseum, this will provide consistency for Raider players in game like conditions .The Raiders coaches and players will also be able to view and breakdown Raider game film in the audio-visual film room at SCOR.
The SCOR campus also includes: Elkin Sports Performance - a world class speed, agility & strength training facility, West End Baseball, and The Richmond Police Athletic League
After meeting with the ownership and staff at SCOR it immediately became apparent that the two organizations share a common goal of working with children with athlete and mentoring programs.
Tim Krout general manager of SCOR states we are excited to have the Richmond Raiders here in town, and even more excited to be able to partner with them as their official training facility. We look forward to a long relationship with the Raiders, not only as a business partner, but also working together to provide opportunities for the local youth football community.
