Matthew Felan has assumed the role of General Manager overseeing business operations.  Felan is entering his second season with the Richmond Raiders.  In 2010, Felan supported the Raiders in developing strategic sponsorships.   Felan brings a unique blend of business, marketing, political fundraising and sports experience to the Raiders organization .

Senior Consultant – Steve Criswell

Criswell began his coaching career in 1984 coaching receivers for Henrico High School in Richmond VA.  The next year he became the assistant offensive line coach and the following year he took over both the offensive and defensive lines.
In 1989 Criswell began four-year stints at Virginia’s Petersburg, Bridgewater’s Turner Ashby and Richmond’s Hermitage High Schools before making the move to the indoor game after the 2000 season.

In 2001, Criswell coached the Fullbacks and Linebackers for the Richmond Speed under Head Coach Richard Davis.  That year, the Speed appeared in the Arena Cup, AF2’s Championship Game.

After 3 years with the Speed, Coach Criswell became the FB/LB’s coach for the Cape Fear Wildcats, also of the AF2 serving with Head Coach Chris Siegfried. 

In 2005 Steve came home to join the Richmond Bandits of the AIFL coaching the Offensive Line, Defensive Line, Linebackers and Fullbacks compiling an 11-1 record and winning the inaugural AIFL Championship.  The 2006 season of the AIFA ended prematurely due to ownership issues even though the team finished 12-2 in the regular season.

2007 through 2008 where spent on Will McClay’s staff for the AFL Dallas Desperados as the Offensive Line and Special Teams Coach.  In 2007 the Desperados set an AFL record by compiling 15 regular season wins.  2 Fullbacks 3 Linemen and 2 Special Teams players received All-Arena honors during the 2 years of Criswell’s tutelage.

 In September of 2009 Criswell was named the first Head Coach of SportsQuest’s IFL franchise the Richmond Revolution. The 2010 Revolution finished its inaugural season 13-2 and again setting a regular season record for wins. Criswell was named IFL Coach of the Year.

During his 9-year indoor career, teams in which he has been on staff have compiled an overall record of 110 – 35 (.759) and qualified for post season play 8 of 9 years.

Born December 9, 1955 in Richmond, Criswell attended Henrico HS.  He earned his BS in Business Administration from Bryan College, in Dayton TN.  Criswell, along with his wife Lori are co-founders of The Edgewood Company of Virginia, Inc., Edgewood Education Services, LLC and Edgewood Properties, LLC all located in Ashland, Virginia.

Director Player Personnel & Communications -  Gary Criswell

Gary has been involved with indoor football in Richmond since its inception serving on the coaching staff of the Richmond Speed (2000-04).  Criswell has previous coaching experience in the High School ranks at his alma mater, Henrico High School and later served at the collegiate level with stints at Virginia Union and Hampton University.  Since his "retirement" from college coaching, Gary can be found broadcasting High School football.  2010 will mark his 15th year in the broadcasting booth as a color commentator and college recruiting analyst.

Gary received his degree from Bryan College where he played baseball.  Coach Criz lives in Mecahanicsville with his wife Suzanne and their dog Harley. He is the proud of his grown children; Chad, Megan, Kelsey and Scott. When he is away from football his pursuit is maintaing a single digit handicap in golf.

Director of Operations – Jack  Bowman

Jack Bowman is entering his second year with the Richmond Raiders and his tenth season in professional indoor football.  Jack has held a variety of roles from General Manager to Vice President of Operations with responsibilities including day-to-day operations, player personnel and recruiting along with game day operations.  In addition, he has worked as the National Director of the American Indoor Football Association where he ran league operations.

Lady Raiders Dance Team Coordinator – Laura Eilers

Laura is proud to serve the Richmond Raiders as the dance team and mascot director. Originally from Lee’s Summit, Mo., Laura received a bachelor of arts in public communication from William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., where she was selected to intern at the United States Senate in Washington, DC. After dancing competitively in high school and college, Laura spent one year as an NFL St Louis Rams Cheerleader and five years as an NFL Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleader, where she was captain, choreographer, junior program leader and variety show performer, traveling to seven countries supporting the U.S. military. She was a head instructor for Universal Dance Association, director’s assistant for the AFL Kansas City Brigade Girls, Spirit Squad Coordinator and Head Cheerleading Coach at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan., and Dance Team Coach for St. Teresa’s Academy in Kansas City, Mo. She is a member of management teams for Going Pro Entertainment and Angela King Designs Go Wild! Wear as well as a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor.

Logistics Director – Dave Sparrow

Dave was a career telephone man, retiring from verizon in 1998. He started his indoor football career in 1999 working with his wife Dana for the Richmond Speed of AF2. He also worked for the Bandits of the AIFL and Revolution of the IFL. Dave is looking forward to many great and successful years as a part of the Raiders organization. Dave enjoys spending time with his wife Dana, their two grown children and their spouses, and especially their 3 year old grandchild Brooklyn.

Equipment Manager – Dana Sparrow

Dana began her football career working with one of the semi-pro teams in the Richmond area. She was equipment manager for the Richmond Speed in 1999 and 2000.  After the Speed ceased operations, Dana worked for both the Bandits and Revolution. She brings much football experience along with her business experience attained while working for Verizon and retiring in 2008. She met her husband, Dave, at Virginia Tech and has been married since 1972. She has 2 children, Travis and April, and 1 grandchild, Brooklyn. She loves football, working with the players and looks forward to a Raider winning season.
